I advise clients in a variety of practice areas including estate planning, trust administration, probate, and real estate law.
My clients consist of individuals creating or modifying an estate plan, executors or conservators seeking probate appointment, trustees needing assistance with trust administrations, persons interested in Medi-Cal planning and beneficiaries who need to have their interests protected.
A primary focus of my practice is advising clients concerning revocable or irrevocable trusts, wills, power of attorneys, beneficiary designations, and gifting. Another main focus is guiding clients through the process of administering trust and probate estates. I am well versed on long term care planning and Medi-Cal issues. Additionally, I have experience in creating, funding, and administering Special Needs Trusts, both privately and through the court system. Issues surrounding the incapacity of a loved one as well as defending a client’s beneficiary rights in probate court are also within the scope of my practice.
In addition to my estate planning work, I am a great resource for legal advice concerning foreclosure prevention, mortgage law, short sales, and bankruptcy. I advise clients of the legal issues and rules surrounding California’s foreclosure laws, and help clients understand their options with respect to deficiency issues, tenancy rights, credit report protection, negotiating short sales, and loan modifications.
I have been a guest speaker on behalf of Merrill Lynch, the Alameda County Library Foundation, and several Sons In Retirement groups on estate planning, elder law, and probate avoidance.
While in law school at the University of San Francisco, I worked for the General Counsel’s Office of the State Bar of California and interned for the judges in the San Mateo County Law and Motion Department.
