Gonsalves & Kozachenko

Mr. Preddy has been an associate since 1996. He represents clients in a range of Family Law matters, including:

  • Custody/visitation. Mr. Preddy has represented clients in a wide range of child custody matters. In two recent cases, he successfully litigated claims of parental alienation in which the non-custodial parent alleged his visitation was frustrated by the custodial parent’s

attempt to interfere with the parent/child relationship.

  • Child and spousal support. Mr. Preddy has successfully litigated hundreds of matters involving child and/or spousal support. These range from more routine cases where a party’s information is readily available, to cases where one party is underemployed or not declaring actual earnings. Mr. Preddy often successfully litigates matters in which the Court imputes income to such parties based on an earning capacity.

  • Division of real property, businesses, and retirement and financial accounts. Mr. Preddy has extensive experience negotiating and litigating such issues. In a recent case, he successfully litigated a matter in which the opposing party had secreted hundreds of thousands of dollars of community funds and refused to disclose their existence. In that case, the Court awarded all the funds (including the opposing party’s rightful share) to our client, and sanctioned the opposing party’s bad conduct by awarding the family home to our client. Many cases involve a party’s separate contribution toward acquiring community assets. Mr. Preddy has successfully litigated such claims on numerous occasions.
